ABOUT ME
My journey began seven years ago when I joined my middle school's broadcast journalism class which filtered into the nationally acclaimed program, CHSTV. I continued on this path for a total of six years learning how to tell stories, interview subjects, be on camera, shoot video, and edit on Final Cut Pro. In the years I was there, we won four Awards of Excellence at Student Television Network and two Pacemaker Awards for outstanding journalism.
Finding my passion early, at the age of 14, I started doing freelance work with large companies and foundations such as ViaSat and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. At the age of 16 I obtained my first serious editing job where I was in charge of editing the feature length short documentary, Tattooed Trucks of Nepal. The film has gone on to win dozens of awards including a nomination at Festival de Cannes for editing. Continuing down this journey, I started broadening my skillset by tutoring Final Cut Pro to aspiring filmmakers as well as becoming a social media manager and producer for various channels.
Even with my focus on journalism, I knew there was more than being confined in a studio covering subjects that have been showcased many times before. At the age of 18, I took a gap semester from college and went to Nepal for two months where I documented a sacred Buddhist valley called Tsum. I packed my gear and took on the challenge of honing my skills in the field. I received support from companies, such as GoPro and Lume, who generously sponsored me with gear for this adventure. Upon my return, I enrolled in college while working everyday to produce social media content and trailers. I am also working on the completion of my own documentary from my experiences in Nepal.
